Take a look at our champs.

Got to Almost all the Rooms

I was able to get to just about every classroom on Wednesday. There's lots to see going on at the school. It was great to see the interactions going on between teachers and students. Hopefully today, I can get to some of the rooms I did not get to see.
The Phillies
Congratulations to the Phillies for making the World Series. I know that we have some huge Phillies fans here at the school and they are ready for whoever wins between the Angels and Yankees.

To The Pumpkin Patch and Beyond

At the Pumpkin Patch

My daughter and I had a great day at the Pumpkin Patch on Friday. We got to walk around the farm and check out the different animals...mainly cows and goats. We also got to go for a tractor ride out to the fields where we got to pick our own pumpkin. Of course we had to get the biggest one we could find.

A Visit to Curtin Middle School

I want to thank my good friends Principal Pardoe and Assistant Principal Poole who allowed me to visit them at Curtin Middle School Friday afternoon. Above is a picture of them from when they played in the Williamsport Area HS Alumni Soccer Match. I got a great opportunity to see how their school has progressed over the past three years and came away with some great ideas for our school.
On Sunday, we're going to Hershey Park. I'll try to post some pictures while I'm there. Have a great weekend.

And The Week Begins

Did You Get the License Plate Number?

Security cameras at the school picked up this high speed racer today. If anyone knows who this person is
, please contact me immediately...just kidding Officer Engleman. Today, Officer Engleman provided a great opportunity for some of our high school students to see how impaired your vision (and driving) becomes after drinking alcohol. He used specially designed goggles to produce the impaired vision. He even had a pair of goggles that represented night time driving.

PSTA Meetin
g

Tonight PSTA had their first meeting of the school year in the middle school library. It was great to see the level of involvement and dedication from the members of the organization.

There Go da Bears

Well, the off season gave me tremendous hope that this would be a Superbowl year for the Bears. If you saw the game last night, you know that's probably not going to happen. Let me give you a quick recap...Cutler dreadful (4 pics), Defense did well until the biggest blow of the night...Urlacher out! Here's a quick bit of trivia for you. Who was the last Chicago QB to throw 4 ints? Here's a clue--he was, like Cutler, supposed to be the next John Elway in Denver. That's right Brian Griese. How about the next time the Broncos come calling about a QB, the Bears front office hangs up the phone. In all seriousness, with Green Bay getting the win and Minnesota looking "Oh My Gosh" good, winning the NFC North will be near impossible. Will we ever see another round of the SuperBowl Shuffle?

Bees Beware

The bees don't stand a chance anymore in our cafeteria. Now we know to trap them with applesauce. Nice catch!!!

How's the Weather Out There?

Well, if you're somewhere in central or eastern PA, you're seeing lots of rain today. Speaking of weather, Miss Rozolis had her students studying how climate affects human civilization in history and today. The students did some weather reporting...looks like Joe Snedeker at WNEP may have some competition.
Jokes
As you know I like to shout out a joke of the day. Lately, there's been a competition between some of our teachers as to who can get me the best joke. Be ready next week for some zingers from Mr. Kaar and Mr. Edinger. Mrs. Doebler's joke had everyone roaring with laughter today...great job!!! If you have a joke, go ahead and leave it as a comment and you may hear it over the announcements.

Are You Ready for Some Football?

Football, Football, Football...it's that time of year. HS and College got started last week (go Lions and Gators), and tonight marks the start of the NFL (Pittsburgh vs. Tennessee) and our very own MMS Black Panthers who take on Danville at 5 P.M. Get out there and support our guys on the field and the young ladies who do a great job cheering them on!

School Board Meeting
On Tuesday night of this week we had a great board of directors meeting for our district. At this meeting, the Milton school celebrated teachers who had retired and those who had just been hired for this year. It was great to see everyone there...even though Mr. Slater didn't tell me to be there at 6:15 P.M. Afterwards Mrs. Trate put on a rockin' PowerPoint display. Here are some pictures from the evening.

Monday Monday

You know what's great about Monday...it's a brand new start. No matter what happened last week, you have a new beginning. Today seemed to fly by me. I was happy to get out into a few of our sixth grade classrooms. Tomorrow my goal is to get into at least 5 classrooms. I'll try to get some pictures up of what's going on in those rooms.

I know I promised you another video. It took me a little longer than I expected...had a few monkey wrenches thrown into my plan on how to make it. We have some great people outside of the core classroom teachers...take a look.

Stormy Weather

Well the first week of school is over, and what a way to end the week with lots of rain. :(

It's been a crazy first week just getting everyone back and started. Mrs. Trate and I put in a new twist at lunch and the students did great. From now on, the students will go right into the cafeteria and into the lunch line. This seemed to get everyone served quicker today...we'll see how it works out.

I can't wait to get back on Monday and into the classrooms. Some of the best parts of my day are getting out and seeing what our teachers and students are doing.

I know I said there would be another video today, but I ran out of time...look for it on Monday. Have a great weekend!!!!

Time to Get Oriented

How awesome was today? Today was Sixth Grade Orientation. Our 8th Grade WEB leaders did an outstanding job....well with leaders like Mrs. Trate, Mrs. Doebler, and Mr. Romanyshyn, how could they not do a great job?

It's hard to believe that, this is the last weekend of summer. Make sure you go out, have a great weekend, and be ready to have a great start on Monday.

It looks like Mr. Romanyshyn and Mrs. Doebler decided to have a little extra balloon fun.
