The New 7 Orange Pod

The walls in the 7 Orange Pod are going up as I write this.  This has been a truly amazing process so far.  As of right now the concrete walls are up in the old 7 Black area and should be up in the 7 Orange area by the end of the day.  I haven't ventured up stairs to see what is going on there.  I hope your summer is going well.  You can see more updated pictures every Friday on the school district web page.  Click here to get there.

I found a bunch of pictures from the school year.  I'm going to make a video when I get a little time.

Ghana Won

Well if you didn't know the US lost to Ghana 2-1. Ed says he would have been happy either way but he looks a little happier that Ghana won doesn't he.

USA, USA, USA

What a great game today as the United States beat Algeria 1-0 in extra time.  This USA won their group for the first time since 1930 in the World Cup.  It was without  a doubt one of the most dramatic games I have ever seen.  Mr. Kaar was over at my house to watch the game, and we were going crazy when the U.S. scored that goal.

The win sets up a great opening game of the knockout round against Ghana. This game has special meaning for a couple of reasons.  First, Ghana beat the U.S. 2-1 in the 2006 World Cup.

Okay, now here's the biggest reason why this game is so important. One of my great friends Ed Dadzie is from Ghana.  The Ellis family will be going over to the Dadzies' on Saturday to watch the game....and hopefully celebrate a U.S. Victory.  (Sorry Ed!)  I am so psyched!!!  If the U.S. wins this match, it puts them in a really great position to advance to the semis.  Just in case you haven't seen the goal here it is...

At the Circus

Lately it's felt like a circus with all of the construction. Tonight the Ellis family got to go to a real circus.

Some Walls Go Up, Some Walls Come Down

Here's what used to be 7 Orange. They almost have all of the walls completely torn down.

Over in what used to be 7 Black, all of the walls are down and they're now starting to build the individual classrooms. Where you see the scaffolding used to be Mrs. Berkheimer's room.

Turtle Time
Hey check out the turtle my kids found over the weekend. I thought it was a toy at first...until it moved when I tried to pick it up.

First Week without Students

Well this is the end of our first week without students. I'd like to say that it was a quiet week, but with all of the construction, it is pretty chaotic here. Take a look at some pictures from this week.

Used to be the stage in the gym. You're now looking at our future weight room.

Here is the future 6 Black Pod.

Don't tell Mrs. Trate. I think some people got a little carried away.

If you're looking for Mr. Johnson, Mr. Sumner, Mrs. Waldron or Mr. Hostetter, you won't find them here anymore. This will be the new 7 Black Pod.

Where's Zerbe?

No more movies in the LGI Room.

Keep checking back for more updates. Have a great summer!
