1000 and Counting

I've had over 1000 people view my blog...2 visitors were actually from India.  Probably spammers.  The blog has been a great way for me to get quick bits of information out, and allow people to see the great things happening at our school.

If you have any suggestions for additions or what you would like to see on the blog...please leave me a comment or send me an email directly.

Want to wish a happy, happy, birthday to Mr. Noaker.  He was 30 years old yesterday...I wonder if he got to go kayaking at all.

Owwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!

Okay, one would think that after 35 years of getting sunburned, I would know how to correctly apply sunscreen.  Well, think again.  Somehow I managed to miss one spot on my arm and it's blazing right now!!!

I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for...

I love ice cream. Seriously, if someone told me I could no longer have ice cream, I would probably go nuts! What's your favorite flavor?

The Beach is On

We made it to the beach. Jack was in the water for 5 minutes before he was spitting out a mouthful of sand. I guarantee he'll be down again. I'll make sure to snag a picture.

Philly Cheesesteak

So what do we do after the game? We head over to Pat's to get a Philly Cheesesteak. I'll eat one for Mr. Turbitt. Jaime's getting ready to eat her first cheesesteak...with no cheese and ketchup only.

I'm Still Around

Just want to reassure everyone that I'm not lost.  I haven't posted in a few days.  Loading up the whole clan in the old family truckster to head to the beach tomorrow.  I took some pictures of the Middle School that I wanted to post last week.  I'll take some new ones and post them all when I return next week.

Jimmy V Foundation Auction

Today, ESPN is hosting the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research online auction.  If you've never heard Jim Valvano's speech from the 1993 ESPY Awards, you have to watch it now.

You can bid on items by going to the Ebay page right here.

A Great Big Hole

Look at the hole outside of my house.  It goes down at least 10+ feet.  We have to get parts of our sewer line replaced.  The line just happens to run directly under a tree and the walk up to our house.  Something tells me this isn't going to be good.

Don't forget to check out the updates to the Middle School at the Milton Area School District web page.  We're getting paint up on some of the walls.  We'll be in by August 30th, no problem!!

The Dutch

"There's only two things I can't stand in this world.  People who are intolerant of other people's cultures...and the Dutch."  Anyone know what movie this quote comes from?  Click here to find out.

Just in case you didn't hear or for some reason are not following the World Cup, the Dutch beat Uruguay yesterday 3-2 and put them in the World Cup Final for the first time since 1978.  This sets up some interesting match ups.  In the other semi-final, Spain plays Germany.  The Netherlands has played some epic matches with Germany, including the 1974 World Cup final game won by West Germany, and if Spain wins, the final match will have two world powers who have never won the tournament.  Either way, it will be a great final.

Watching Brazil vs. Holland

Joey and I are watching the Samba Boys take on the Dutch. As you can see Joey's loving the game.
