USA, USA, USA

What a great game today as the United States beat Algeria 1-0 in extra time.  This USA won their group for the first time since 1930 in the World Cup.  It was without  a doubt one of the most dramatic games I have ever seen.  Mr. Kaar was over at my house to watch the game, and we were going crazy when the U.S. scored that goal.

The win sets up a great opening game of the knockout round against Ghana. This game has special meaning for a couple of reasons.  First, Ghana beat the U.S. 2-1 in the 2006 World Cup.

Okay, now here's the biggest reason why this game is so important. One of my great friends Ed Dadzie is from Ghana.  The Ellis family will be going over to the Dadzies' on Saturday to watch the game....and hopefully celebrate a U.S. Victory.  (Sorry Ed!)  I am so psyched!!!  If the U.S. wins this match, it puts them in a really great position to advance to the semis.  Just in case you haven't seen the goal here it is...
