Hoops for Heart Completed!!!

We finished our Hoops for Heart fundraising campaign.  Here is a picture of some of our winners from the different school activities we did to raise money.  This year we held a volleyball tournament, candy jar guessing contests, staff dress down day, school wide BINGO game, student hat day, and a basket raffle.  Between the donations the students received and the school activities, we raised over $2000.  I am so proud of everyone who participated.  I would like to thank everyone who donated items for our basket raffle.  Below are pictures of our top fundraisers, volleyball champions and candy jar guessing game.

Hoops for Heart

The Milton Area Middle School will be running its annual Hoops for Heart fundraisingeffort. The event has been organized by the American Heart Association for over 15years. The basketball event will be held on March 5, 2009. Only students who secure donations will be allowed to participate in the final day’s activities. To register online click on the Hoops for Heart link. Remember if every person in our school could collect just $2, we would raise over $1000 in donations alone for the American Heart Association.

We will be running other events/activities to raise money. Starting Monday, February 21, we will begin running a bingo event. Students can purchase Bingo boards for $1. The winning student will receive a $15 iTunes card. Through Wednesday, February 23rd, we will also be running the candy jar guessing game. Students can pay $.25 to guess how many pieces of candy are in jars of M&M's, Hershey Kisses, Gummy Bears and Teddy Grahams. Students can also register to participate in a Volleyball Tournament. Registration packets must be turned in by Friday, February 26th with the $6 team registration fee. Finally, we will be holding a basket raffle in the front office. Please take some time to stop in at our office and see the different baskets. Tickets cost $2 or 3 for $5. The drawing will be on Thursday, March 5th. Gift baskets include: Lia Sophia Jewelery (one earring set and a necklace and earring set), 2 Mary Kay Cosmetics sets, 3 Perkins Gift Certificates ($16 each), certificate for a free haircut at The Village Stylist, a Milton Black Panthers gift set (bobble head doll, tree ornament, and a mini baseball helmet), gift basket from Tricia's Treasures, and a West Coast Video movie basket (3 movie rentals, popcorn and Milk Duds). Pictures of the items are below.

Just Add It!

Mrs. Hook's Math class came up with a song that goes with Michael Jackson's "Beat It." Take a look. It appears that there are some on the left who are not participating. We'll come up with a special song for them to sing next time.
